Thank you for visiting Abundant Harvest!

We are a membership or CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farming operation, providing a direct connection between the farmers and the people who enjoy eating fresh, seasonal produce grown at the farm.

You join our farm by purchasing a portion, or “share,” of the season’s bounty. In return for your financial support early in the season, we plant and nurture an assortment of vegetables, herbs, some fruit and flowers. From May to October, we harvest the produce at its peak of flavor. You pick it up, fresh and convenient!

As a member, you get to know who’s growing your food and the methods we use. You have the satisfaction of knowing that your food is free from chemical fertilizers, pesticides and genetic engineering. Your membership supports locally- grown, high quality, custom-harvested food, and it benefits us all. Joining our farming operation is ideal if you are interested in eating seasonally, and supporting local farmers. We are growing a strong community in addition to growing healthy food!

Summer CSA Produce Pickup 2010

1) Helvetia (Dos Sequoias Farm) –  24 weeks from May 19 to Oct 27, 2010.  The pick up is weekly on Wednesdays, 3 to 7 PM.  Small share: $440 ($18 per week), large share: $880 ($36 per week).  The farmers are there when members stop by the farm to choose and weigh out their produce to take home.

2) SE Portland (SE Clinton St & 45th Ave) – 12 weeks from May 20 to Oct 21, 2010.  The pick up is twice a month every other Thursday, 4 to 7 PM. Small share: $220 ($18 per week), large share $440 ($36 per week). The farmers are there when members stop by to choose and weigh out their produce to take home.

3)  Boedecker Cellars  (2621 NW 30th Ave, Portland) – 24 weeks from May 20 to Oct 28, 2010.  The pick up is weekly on Thursdays, 2 to 6 PM. The wine tasting room is also open Friday afternoons 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. If you are unable to get your basket on Thursday.  The share is one-size and pre-basketed.  Members stop by to pick up their basket;  someone from Boedecker Cellars will be on hand for assistance.  One size basket is $720 ($30 per week)

The Share Quantity

The small share is enough for a busy family of 1-2 people to make meals at home and enjoy an assortment of seasonal produce.

Large shares are approximately twice the size of a small share.

* Sample Summer Share – small

- 1/2 lb green beans
- 1 head lettuce
- 6  root vegetables (beets, carrots, radishes, etc)
- 1 head broccoli
- 1 onion, or 1 leek, or 1 bunch scallions
- 2 sweet bell peppers
- 3 hot peppers
- 1-2 cucumbers
- 1-2 summer squash
- 2 oz basil
- 1-3 lbs assorted tomatoes
- 1 eggplant
- 6-8 flower stems (your choice)

* This sample small CSA share is a snapshot week during the season. A large share is twice the amount. Each growing season has its unique challenges. On occasion a crop may fail due to conditions beyond our control. To diversify the risk, we grow a wide range of crops so that if some do not do so well, there will still be a variety of food to fill your basket each week, all season long. As members of the farm we all share the risks and rewards of the growing season.
